Q. I am still active duty military and will not be able to obtain my DD214 in time to mail it in with my application. Can I still get the 5 extra points on the Civil Service Exam?
A. If you are unable to get your DD214 prior to the application deadline, then you will not get the extra 5 points. There is no other documentation that is accepted in place of the DD214, and be sure it is the MEMBER 4 FORM DD-214 that you submit, as it is the only one that shows both service time and the nature of your discharge. You will still be required to get us a copy of your DD214 at a later date, along with the rest of your paperwork.
